On November 25 and 26, the II JUST SIDE International Congress (Justice and Sustainability in the Territory through Spatial Data Infrastructure Systems) will be held under the slogan “Complex Social Systems. Geodata Integration in Law and Policy“. This congress, organized by the JUST Side Ibero-American Network, will take place at the University of Coimbra, after its first edition in Montevideo (Uruguay). The gvSIG Association, as a member of the Network, will have an active presence in the congress.
The objective of the Congress is to share knowledge about the concept of Geo-law, which combines the legal analysis of territorial, environmental and social data from the use of spatial analysis tools and methodologies, in order to obtain information on socio-environmental injustices that can serve as a scientific basis for the adoption or correction of public policies… geomatics in open source software as a tool to support decision making, to promote and strengthen public policies, to face social, environmental, economic, legal and democratic challenges.
Call for papers is open until September 15. Proposals can be sent to just.side@ij.uc.pt. Abstracts must have a maximum of 1200 words and can be written in Spanish, Portuguese or English. All accepted proposals will have their corresponding ISBN publication.
