How to convert a line layer into equispaced points layer

Sometimes we need to convert a line layer into equispaced points layer, that is, points that are separated by a certain distance from each other.

This type of layers can be generated almost immediately thanks to a geoprocess in gvSIG Desktop.

For that we only have to indicate the line layer from which the point layer will be created and the distance between the points.

At this video you can see an example where a point layer is generated from a line layer that represents the streets of a city:
