The first release candidate (RC1) to final gvSIG 2.5.1 version is now available to download on the project website. In this first distribution we have put at your disposal the portable version so that you test it and send us the errors that you detect in order to fix them for the final version.

As we informed you some time ago, this new version is the result of the correction of the most relevant errors that had been detected after releasing gvSIG 2.5, a version with big changes. In addition, new functionalities developed in recent months have been added, bringing considerable improvements to the application. We will inform you shortly of all the improvements in this new gvSIG Desktop version.

To test it you just have to download the .ZIP file, unzip it in a path without spaces (and not directly on C:\ in Windows) and you can run it. Then if you detect any error you can inform us about it it as always through the users mailing lists.
