Extending free certification for online courses about Geographic Information Systems til September

Some weeks ago we launched free certification  for online gvSIG Desktop courses about Geographic Information Systems applied to different topics, offered by gvSIG Association, to help you make confinement more bearable. Although the situation in many countries is improving, there is still some time ahead of us in which many people will have to stay at home, and that is why we have decided to extend the free certification until September 30, 2020.

For that, everyone who submits the certification exercises before that date, will be able to get the certificate of achievement completely free of charge.

Ampliación de la certificación gratuita de los cursos online sobre Sistemas de Información Geográfica hasta septiembre

Hace unas semanas pusimos en marcha la certificación gratuita de los cursos online sobre Sistemas de Información Geográfica aplicados a distintas temáticas que ofrece la Asociación gvSIG, para hacer más llevaderos estos días de confinamiento. Aunque va mejorando la situación en muchos países aún queda un tiempo por delante en el que muchos tendréis que permanecer en casa, y es por eso por lo que hemos decidido ampliar la certificación gratuita hasta el 30 de septiembre de 2020.

Para ello, todas las personas que entreguen las pruebas de certificación hasta dicha fecha, podrán obtener el certificado de aprovechamiento de forma totalmente gratuita.

Estos cursos están realizados con la versión 2.4 de gvSIG Desktop, disponible en: Descarga de gvSIG Desktop 2.4

Demo Day Smart Cities: La relación ciudad – ciudadano en tiempos de COVID-19 y cómo se adaptan los municipios

La pasada semana fuimos invitados por AVAESEN a participar en el “Demo Day Smart Cities: La relación ciudad – ciudadano en tiempos de COVID-19 y cómo se adaptan los municipios”, una jornada participativa sobre la respuesta smart city contra la pandemia COVID-19. Durante el evento se habló sobre modelos de interacción innovadora ciudad-ciudadano a través de la tecnología, con casos concretos de España y Europa.

Nuestra participación “La importancia de las tecnologías de localización ante emergencias sanitarias” planteó los beneficios y bondades del uso de la Suite gvSIG ante situaciones como la del COVID-19. Y, entre otras cosas, hablamos por primera vez de un nuevo miembro del catálogo tecnológico de gvSIG, gvSIG Mapps, sobre el que pronto esperamos daros más información.

Calling for gvSIG Community to update gvSIG Desktop 2.5.1 translations

The first release candidate to final gvSIG 2.5.1 version is available now, and it is in the stabilization phase. In parallel the translations of the interface are being updated in order to have the final version with as many languages as possible.

Currently gvSIG is translated to more than 25 languages, thank to the participation of the Community.

Llamamiento a la Comunidad gvSIG para actualizar las traducciones de gvSIG Desktop 2.5.1

Recientemente se ha publicado la primera versión candidata a final de la nueva versión 2.5.1 de gvSIG Desktop, encontrándose en fase de estabilización. Paralelamente se están actualizando las traducciones de la interfaz para tener la versión final disponible en el mayor número de idiomas posible.

Actualmente gvSIG se encuentra traducido a más de 25 idiomas, gracias a la participación de la Comunidad.

First release candidate to final gvSIG 2.5.1 version is now available to be tested

The first release candidate (RC1) to final gvSIG 2.5.1 version is now available to download on the project website. In this first distribution we have put at your disposal the portable version so that you test it and send us the errors that you detect in order to fix them for the final version.

As we informed you some time ago, this new version is the result of the correction of the most relevant errors that had been detected after releasing gvSIG 2.5, a version with big changes. In addition, new functionalities developed in recent months have been added, bringing considerable improvements to the application. We will inform you shortly of all the improvements in this new gvSIG Desktop version.

To test it you just have to download the .ZIP file, unzip it in a path without spaces (and not directly on C:\ in Windows) and you can run it. Then if you detect any error you can inform us about it it as always through the users mailing lists.

We expect your collaboration with testing.

Primera candidata a final de la nueva versión gvSIG 2.5.1 disponible para su testeo

La primera Candidata a versión final (RC1) de gvSIG 2.5.1 ya está disponible para descargar en la web del proyecto. En esta primera distribución hemos puesto a vuestra disposición la versión portable para que la testeéis y nos hagáis llegar los errores que detectéis de cara a corregirlos para la versión final.

Como os informamos hace un tiempo, esta nueva versión es el resultado de la corrección de los errores más relevantes que habían surgido tras la publicación de la versión 2.5, una versión que llevaba grandes cambios. Aparte se han añadido nuevas funcionalidades desarrolladas durante estos últimos meses que aportan considerables mejoras a la aplicación. En breve os informaremos de todas las mejoras de la nueva versión de gvSIG Desktop.

Para testearla solo debéis descargar el fichero .ZIP, descomprimirlo en una ruta sin espacios (y en Windows que no esté directamente en C:\) y ya podéis ejecutarla, y si detectáis algún error nos lo podéis modificar como siempre a través de las listas de usuarios.

Funcionalidades y ventajas de gvSIG Online, la plataforma integral para creación de una Infraestructura de Datos Espaciales

gvSIG Online es uno de los productos principales de la Suite gvSIG, que permite crear geoportales de forma sencilla en unos pocos minutos, y con el que se puede publicar tanto cartografía ráster como vectorial, tanto capas locales como servicios web externos, y aplicar simbologías de diferentes tipos (incluso varias leyendas para una misma capa y que el usuario decida cuál desea visualizar). Aparte, es posible seleccionar qué geoportales son públicos y cuáles son privados, y qué capas serán visibles solamente para ciertos usuarios o grupos de usuarios (muy útil para dar permisos a los distintos departamentos de una entidad), no habiendo límite de proyectos, de capas, de usuarios, de descargas…

Gracias a las herramientas de edición básica que incluye gvSIG Online, es posible editar las capas vectoriales tanto de forma gráfica (añadir nuevas geometrías, eliminarlas, desplazarlas, o editar vértices) como de forma alfanumérica (editar los atributos de su tabla asociada).

These days are difficult for many people. We remind you, for those who are at home, that there are free online gvSIG Desktop courses where you can learn about how to use Geographic Information Systems, applied to different topics.
